My system seems to be always backing up itself and thus slows down the application and my computer. How do I select the time for backup and/or pause the backup so I can use the app and computer at normal speed?

If you are using Windows 10, the v8 eM Client Database backup criteria is defined in the Windows Task Scheduler where you can change the time of the backup, IF you feel comfortable making changes.
My daily backup occurs ONCE per day, not “always backing up itself”.
