emClient seems great… caldav, carddav, e-mail, all in one. There’s just one thing, which also drove me away from outlook: archiving is local. There should be an easy button/keyboard shortcut to archive on the server on which the message is on. (Moving to a folder doesn’t work easily, because in All Inboxes view you have to try to figure out which server the message is on.)
Now, I could work simply with em Client’s Unread view, and never bother moving messages anywhere except at the end of the year, as I’ve done so far as a long time user of Opera Mail. The problem is… since relatively recently, I’m using Apple Mail and iPad a lot. The way Opera Mail approaches E-mail, although The Right Way [keeping everything in Inbox, not bothering with archaic folders at all, and having an Unread as the default view] is not compatible with most other mail applications, especially Apple’s. They do not give you the option to *not* mark messages automatically read. Hence I’m checking out whether em Client would be compatible… But without archival on the server – to have an uncluttered inbox, and everything always available on all devices – the answer is *no*.
Can you tell me what archiving do you mean? Is server supports (for selected folder) then on “Toolbar” should be “Archive” button.
Automatic Archiving (can be one time only) of course archive into Local Folders because we can’t force server to do something it is not designed to do.

John,
My email server if Gmail which supports archiving, but there is no archive button or feature in eM. Without this feature I cannot use the software, which is otherwise very good.

Not sure if this helps, but if I’m in the “Smart Folder” All Inboxes the Archive button is not there. If I’m in my Inbox under the account it shows the icon right in-between print and move to junk.
Hi, Gmail account is the only one supporting online Archive, but it can only Archive emails from the inbox. If you’re using smart folders you can’t see the archive button there as the application can not recognize if that email is assigned to your gmail account or to some other account.
It only works in the Gmail’s inbox. Sorry if this is causing any obstacles, I hope you can manage to use this setting.
Thank you,
Paul.
Please work on the possibility of archiving messages on servers not only for gmail.
Provider Seznam.cz allows archiving, but your program can not recognize her. Button to archive not displayed.
I use actively mails from mobile devices and archiving is very important for an overview.
I consider the purchase of a license for my 5 mailboxes and archive is one of the criteria.
On the other hand, any solution must be. On my mobile phone I use a program Bluemail and he can mail archiving.

Hi Tomas, if the archiving feature is supported on your mail server, it should be automatically recognized by the application and allow you to use this feature.
I’ve tested the behavior with your mail service and it seems like the archiving feature works as expected.
However this feature is only enabled for IMAP accounts, so make sure you’ve setup your account as an IMAP account in order to use this feature.
Hope this helps,
Paul.
Yes!!! Thanks
eM could not automatically find IMAP. The account I added manually and the archiving is function.
I definitely buy a license after the test time.
Hi again, glad it works, please make sure to let us know if you come across any other issues or questions regarding the application, we’ll be happy to help.
Thank you,
Paul.
