Application crashing when right clicking on numerical data within the body of an email

Application crashing when right clicking on numerical data within the body of an email.

We need more information:
What operating system are you using and the version number?
Has this happened once only? Can you reproduce it?
What did you notice when it crashed - did you get any relevant message?
How did you restart eM Client
If you can reproduce the error, can you send relevant screen shots?

Hi @John_A

What operating system are you using and the version number? Happening on Windows 10 & 11 / eM Client version 10.3.1738

Has this happened once only? Can you reproduce it? I can reproduce it. It seems to happen on any numerical data that is 7 digits or more.

What did you notice when it crashed - did you get any relevant message?

Would you like to see the Error Details?

How did you restart eM Client - Restart eM Client using the Continue tab on the above screenshot

Thanks for the info. Others may chip in here and may request more details. Meanwhile, you could try repairing the database as described by @Gary in a number of posts:

Please close eM Client and open a Windows Command Prompt. Not a powershell, but a command prompt (cmd).

Paste in this command:
“C:\Program Files (x86)\eM Client\MailClient.exe” /dbrepair

“C:\Program Files (x86)\eM Client\MailClient.exe” /dbrepair /rebuildall

Restart eM Client.

Can you post in this thread “an example of what you right click on” to make it crash ?

Hi

If we reply / forward an email and go to right click any of the numerical date, to copy, it crashes. Seems to be any numbers that are 7+ digits long.

I keep getting this exact same issue, ever since I updated to the latest version of eM Client, every time I right click, or double click to highlight an 8 digit number, the programme immediately crashes. I am on windows 11.

Ok sounds like eg: “something in your specific emails” as ive even done a clean install on pc and mac today with multiple accounts with 7,8 & 9 digits long in the body and cannot get it to crash dbl-clicking or right clicking etc using any V10 including the latest V10.3.1738 for Windows.

So suggest you and @RoxySedge who also has this specific crashing problem, if you have an active Pro or Personal version, to “export and example .eml email file” via "Menu / File / Export and lodge a support ticket with the .eml via the VIP support page to be investigated.

Thank you, I will.

I have just checked something and my issue only happens when I insert one one of my pre saved ‘quick text’ temples.

I have one for sending purchase orders, so once I have inserted the quick text, I highlight the PO number in the quick text, and paste the new PO number in place. It’s when I do this and try to right click to paste the new number that the programme crashes. I have done the same without using the quick text and I have no issues…
