How do you add an alias address in EMC Ver8?

See if this will help…

Hi Rick2…

With EMC in view do the following:

Menu -> Accounts -> First Account will be selected -> General -> Aliases

That’s it!

Hi…thanks for the comeback!

I did that and and the alias was added. When I try to send an email to the alias or from the alias it does not work? When I go back into Menu>Accounts>Select Alias…the address added does not show?
Program does not hold the addition?
Maybe one of you could try and add an alias and let me know if it works on your end?

Thanks

Hi Rick2…

After you have clicked OK having entered the alias I hope you are clicking:

SAVE & CLOSE - top left of accounts window.

Hi Ricky2…

Am I correct in thinking you are trying to send an email from your NEW alias address?
If the answer is yes, do you also get the same error when sending from your original email address?
If this is not the case you will need to create the alias address with your email domain provider
before it will work.
The exception to this is if you own the domain name, which I don’t think you do, when you can
create whatever you want, either with a personal password or as administrator ‘catch all’.

Get back if you need more help or don’t understand.

Hi,

The alais I set up is on my wife’s account. When I try to send an email using the alias I get the error posted and do not receive the email when sent to my account.
When I send an email form my wife’s original email address to my address I get the same error but I do receive the email?

I originally set up the alias with “outlook.com
I then set up with EMC Ver 8.0
When I sent from alias I posted above what took place.
I have now removed the alias from both outlook.com & EMC as of this am.
When I send a test from my account to her account it works fine with no error.
When I send from her original account to my account I receive the email but the error is still coming up?

What do I need to do to eliminate this error on her account?

Hi Ricky2…

You don’t say if the accounts are on the same computer, however, the error message
is being caused by outlook.com as obviously something was not set up correctly when
you tried to set up the alias.

I don’t know what you did or did not do on outlook.com, further I don’t know
what is required to set up an alias there.

The aliases that I use are with domains that I own so I have total permission.

I presume you have rebooted your computer/s and shut down and re-started EMC,
other than that I regret I can’t help you.

I do not believe the issue is with EMC.

Hey “skybat”,

Only thing I did in outlook.com was to add the alias. I have removed the alias in both however I was still getting the error. I deleted my wife’s account from EMC and then added it back in and the error has disappeared!
Thank you very much for the help and providing some assistance in this matter. Much appreciated!
