2 major issues STILL not fixed with version 7!!!

1-Any messages in your DRAFT folder are not editable in order to send them! You can reply/reply all/forward or delete the message once you double-click on it, but no option to continue editing and then to send it!!

2-Deleting any message in the JUNK folder no longer actually deletes it! Instead it moves the message into the main inbox, where you have to go and re-delete it again!

Regarding your issue number 1: in version 7.0.26687.0, if you open a message in the draft folder in its own window (double click in message in list), it is editable and it can be sent.

No, unfortunately this does not provide an editable field and no “send” button is present either.

It certainly does in my setup. What version of eM Client are you using?

Latest version 7.0.26687.0

It does in my setup also IF and ONLY IF the original message was initially being created on that same PC containing eM Client.

But say for instance you’re at a different PC with a different install of eM Client, or even simpler, you’re using your mobile phone’s email app and saving an unfinished draft message… when you go back to your PC with version 7, it is now uneditable and no SEND button (check it out).

This was definitely not the behaviour in version 6. That’s why I downgraded.

:frowning:

Odd. I just created a test message; saved it to draft folder; edited it on my Android phone and sent it from the phone. I also am able to create a new message in eM Client on one computer; save it to draft folder; and then edit and send it from a second Windows computer running another copy of eM Client.

My email provider is Gmail and both Windows computers are running Windows 10.

I’ve tested this on 3 computers so far (two win10 and one Win7) and all have the same behaviour.

Works fine when the draft is initiated directly within eM Client, but if draft is created say by Gmail app on Android, issue occurs on desktop.

Definitely weird.

What about the second question.  I am also having my deleted junk moved into my inbox.

Make sure you are attemting to edit the draft from the actual account draft folder itself, not the Smart Folder. As far as #2, known bug that emc said they would fix in an upcoming release. Please note that “empty junk folder” works correctly.

Thanks for the head’s up about #2.

But just FYI for #1, the behaviour is not different when accessing draft messages within the actual account folder. The issue is present regardless of access from Gmail folder, work folder or Smart Folder unfortunately.

Oh, now I remember. This has come up before. On emc, open the item in the draft folder. Then right-click on the message body and click “forward/forward as original”. Then you can edit the email. You will, however, have to add back the recipients… That’s the work-around.

Yikes! Here’s hoping the Emc team gets around to fixing it soon!

Ive given up on 7 and downgraded to 6 instead.

Thanks for the info!

I also cannot edit directly any draft emails that are initally created in Gmail either online or using the Gmail Apps. The only time i can edit them directly is when i initally create them in EMClient.

So if i initally create them in Gmail online or via the Gmail app, when i get back to EMClient draft folder, i forward them or copy them to a new email to edit them before sending them.

I have EMClient V 7.1.30794.0 . I suspect some possible eg: Gmail draft (format) problem that’s not currently not compatiable with Gmail draft format. So opens in a read only format ?.

It is true that you (still) cannot directly edit a draft created outside of eM Client.  You can, however, select forward as original and the only thing you will have to do is reenter addressees.
