Synchronising mail over 12 months old

I have a client with more than 100,000 emails in her Inbox which cover a period of several years.  eM Client appears to only want to sync the messages from approximately the last 12 months which amounts to around 45,000 of the messages in the Inbox.

I can’t find any setting within eM Client to define a synchronisation period and, as it stands, I’m afraid the product is useless without such a setting.  Am I missing something??

I know all the arguments against keeping such huge numbers of messages in the Inbox but I’ve tried convincing her to create sub-folders, but that still doesn’t help the access to older messages.

It usually works as expected. Who is the email provider?

It’s a dedicated mail server running on a Synology NAS. Access IMAP.

Are there any error messages? You will find them in Menu > Tools > Operations.

Is she evaluation eM Client, or was she able to successfully use it before?

No errors reported - just sync completed, albeit some 55,000 messages missing.

We’re evaluating eM Client as Outlook is struggling with 50GB+ data files.  Have extended Outlook file size limits and was interested to see how eM Client would perform but unable to get messages much beyond a year old.

Outlook does sync, but it’s not a quick process and the client has a laptop for travelling and sync can take hours when switched on after a few days.

Gotta find a better solution.

You could right-click on the Inbox and choose Properties > Repair. That will force a re-sync with the sever.

Maybe POP3 is a solution, if she is using just the laptop.
