Signature

Hi,
Every time I restart eM client or restart the computer, the graphic files disappear. format remains as HTML but shill the images cant be seen.

Pls let me know why could be the cause

Thanks

How are you inserting the image into the signature? Are you using insert image, insert image as link, or are you pasting the image into the signature template?

I’m having the same issue.  I’m copying and pasting the signature from another email within eM Client.  My company’s email signature is more on the complex side with a company logo and social media icon images that are web links.  I wouldn’t be able to insert all the images to recreate the signature because I would lose the live link function.  My signature was fine for months, but I feel with the last update something happened.  The only work around I discovered was that in the eM Client temp file folder (C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Temp\eM Client temporary files), when I setup my signature the images would be in the temp folder.  As soon I exited the program, the folder would empty and the next time I opened eM CLient all the images in my signature were gone.  At the moment I have a copy of the temp folder on my desktop with all the images of my signature in it.  I replace the temp file every time I open eM Client.  Hoping a fix is in the works.  I’m ready to buy licenses for my staff, but not until this problem is solved.

As a Pro License user you should open a support ticket with eM Client. I am sure they will be able to resolve your issue so that you can go ahead and install eM Client for the rest of your staff.

Thanks for the quick reply.  I’ll go ahead and do that.

They are closed for the weekend, but it is probably the best way to resolve the issue. They will most likely suggest that you re-create the signature though.

Hi Gary. I didn’t see that you’ve responded. Apologies…

I copy and paste it from an existing SENT item. until restart of the app, signature works perfectly that way.
it’s an image but has links to it.
For instance, image of FB will take you to company FB page…
Thanks

I think you may have to recreate it Thilan, or at least partly.

I would save the image from the sent message, then edit the signature template and replace the image with the one you just saved using right-click and insert image.

Hi,

that’s exactly what I do.
But unfortunately the system rests every time the app is restarted.

What version of eM Client are you using? (Menu > Help > About)

It’s 7.2.36908.0

Maybe you need to start from scratch.

Save the image somewhere, create a new signature, and rather than pasting the signature from your sent message, recreate it.

I’m having same issue. We can’t insert image as link in signature just like we can do in Gmail. If we delete the image from source directory then it is gone from the signatures too. This should not happen and at least signature image files should be copied by the em Client application itself to some kind of directory inside installed folder. Please share if there is a fix to this problem by now.

The clue is in your text: image as link.

This means that the signature image  links to the source image, the image is not embedded. So if you delete the source, it will not be available for the signature.

Rather you should choose Insert > Image.

Thanks Gary for prompt response. Please find the screenshot below explaining why I faced difficulty. It was so easy but just wasn’t visible. You guys should update menus so that other users don’t get lost like me =)
