Problem with German Umlaut Characters between eM Client with CardDAV and iOS with CardDAV

Dear Team,

I’m evaluating eM Client to switch a few clients from Thunderbird/Lightning to eM Client.
I successfully connected to my CardDAV Server (Baikal) and all my contacts which where created with Thunderbird were there, with correct Umlaut Characters. They also show up in iOS with no problems.

But if I edit an Entry or create a new one in eM Client, the Umlaut Chacters show up wrong in iOS.

So i.e. Björn-Jürgen Wächter shows up as Björn-JÃ1⁄4rgen Wächter on iOS.

To reproduce this I can provide a test account for you developers on my CardDAV Server.

Hi Stefan, what version of eM Client are you currently using on your computer?
If you could please go to Tools > Settings > Advanced and turn on CardDAV logging for the problematic account.

  1. Save the settings
  2. Restart the application
  3. Replicate the issue
    Once the issue occurs, please go back to the advanced settings window and click on “Send logs” and send the logs to my email, [email protected] with a reference link to this forum topic.
