Outlook import

When I try to import my outlook file, the app just crash

Hi Diego,
this is a known issue and we have a fix prepared in the update that we’ll release soon.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Regards,
Olivia

I am having this issue as well. Can’t import outlook accounts or folders. However, I just found another post that suggests exporting the pst file from outlook then dragging/dropping onto EMClient. Will give that a try and report back.

I have the same issue. Outlook import just hangs. I can see that the process is running and I/O reads are accumulating but  after 20 hours nothing has happened. It seems to be stuck on one folder.

Can you update to the latest version downloadable form http://www.emclient.com/release-history. Some problems with Outlook import were fixed in the last year.

You can also try importing selected folders rather than the whole thing at once.

Well Gary, I would try that but I need to make sure the fix for ActiveSync works first. I just haven’t had the time to install an updated version on a separate machine to try it.

Man there are just so many bugs and work arounds that have to be deployed on a such a mature piece of software. It seems with each new version breaks something else.

By the way I can not import selected folders. The whole thing hangs.

I think you may be surprised with the more recent versions, especially with the Outlook import.

You can do it on your same machine. Close eM Client and rename the database directory, then nothing will mess with it. Install the latest version and try various things like the Outlook import and the ActiveSync providers.xml fix. When you are finished, uninstall eM Client and reinstall the older version. Before starting eM Client delete the database directory and rename the old one back.
