Obey Fitts’ law, moving the scrollbar to the edge of the screen for infinite width

I am looking for an email client with a preview pane that obeys Fitts’ law. When the window is maximized, the preview pane scollbar should be placed at the edge of the screen. This allows the user to click the scrollbar effortlessly because no matter how far the mouse pointer moves to the edge of the screen, it will always land on the scrollbar. The scrollbar will then have “infinite width”.

All major web browsers obey Fitts’ law for the window scrollbar.

I am pleased that Windows Live Mail, when maximized, extends the preview pane scrollbar to the edge of the screen.

I want to know if eM Client has the capability to do the same. Can a theme get rid of the white gap between the scrollbar and the edge of a maximized window?

I have attached screenshots of the Windows Live Mail and eM Client preview pane scollbars.

There is a Computerphile video that describes Fitts’ law and infinite width.

Windows Live Mail vs. eM Client:

I created a custom theme, but setting VerticalSplitterLinesSpace to 0 , -1 , or some other negative number did not work.

There is still a gap of pixels between the scrollbar and the window edge.

Hello,

This is a great suggestion and we’ve added it to our feature request list. Thank you.
