New INSTAL V.7.2.37929.0 on new Win10 PC --- Error when entering Account info

  • The server was found, but authentication failed. Check the email ID and Password.
     Using same ID and Password am able to logon via Webmail AND also on old PC.
     Please help

When adding the account to eM Client, there is an option to ignore the test result.  Choose that.

After the setup has completed, click on the IMAP and SMTP tabs and make sure you have one of the following port/security policy combinations.

SMTP
Port 587 = Force usage of SSL/TLS
Port 25 = Use SSL/TLS if available
Port 465 = Use SSL/TLS on special port (legacy)

IMAP
Port 993 = Use SSL/TLS on special port (legacy)
Port 143 = Use SSL/TLS if available

POP3
Port 995 = Use SSL/TLS on special port (legacy)
Port 110 = Use SSL/TLS if available

I had the same problem recently with my outlook.com (Exchange) account. I found out that you have to request an “app-password” from your Microsoft account. Go to your account, select security, go to the last box “additional security options” (or something similar - I only have the German version… just in case, you also have an Exchange aacount.
