MAPÏ Support

I installed eM Client for my parents in law  as an alternative to Windows 10 mail hoping it would provide MAPI support. My mother in law wants to send pictures by using the Send To - Mail Recipient function. However, after installing eM Client, I was disappointed to discover the Send To - Mail Recipient still resulted in an error message that no MAPI client is installed. I have followed the instructions to set eM Client as the Default Mail Client in Windows 10, but still in vain.

Is eM Client really not supporting MAPI? Is it a feature of the PRO version? Is it a feature to be added in the future? Or am I doing something wrong?

“I have followed the instructions to set eM Client as the Default Mail Client in Windows 10” i am afraid it is a bit more complicated than that. In the box that lets you select standard apps, go to the last link. It says something like “select staandards for each app” (sorry I have a German OS and don’t know the exact English name). The following window opens:

Select eM Client, which leads you to the following window:

click on the last checkbox under MAPI.

Thank you so much Peter! I have been breaking my head for hours on this one!

It works.

And since my parents in law live in the middle of no-where with a slow internet connection (and I mean… slow… 0.4Mbps upstream and their provider Orange France says it’s normal… France is really underdeveloped, I’m glad I don’t live there myself) it is great to have MAPI work again, as it is the only alternative to explain 70 year olds how to reduce the filesize of their pictures before emailing it.

eM Client rules!!

Microsoft should be ashamed that Windows Mail is so bad. Thank god there is eM Client!
