How to create a local folder that's not connected to an email account?

I’m just getting to grip with this new email client, so apologies for what might be a question that’s been covered before…

I have a set of IMAP accounts which appear to be behaving correctly.  At the same time, I have several large legacy email folders from Outlook 2010 which I’d like to import into EM Client, but I don’t want to assign it to a particular email account - their function is storage and reference.  I’ll be copying emails across from the various IMAP accounts into these folders from time to time.

At present, the folders are PST files on my local machine, and I’d like to keep them local rather than attaching them to one of my IMAP accounts.

Is there a simple way to achieve this, by running an import or opening a PST file directly?

Hi Trent, you can import data from the PST files into eM Client’s local folder by going to File > Import > Import from Microsoft Outlook > Import from selected .pst file
Then just select what folders you want to import and where (local folders) and import the data.

You might want to enable local folders in your eM client if you haven’t done so already (go to Tools > Settings > General, and check show local folders).

Many thanks - I’ll give that a try.

I’ve noticed that there’s already a small local folders in EM Client - can I delete/close this or will the import overwrite what’s already there?

You have to select a folder inside the local folder that the data will be imported to.

All seems to be working.  Many thanks.

There are a few things that I’m used to in Outlook 2010 which don’t appear to be available, but I’m sure I’ll get used to it.
