How to configure my eM Client to work with Microsoft Live Mail?
To setup eM Client to work with your Live account (hotmail, msn, live), you must first create an Internet Email account in eM Client with the appropriate configurations.
From the eM Client main menu select: Tools -> Accounts… then select New Account… to bring up the Account wizard window. If you are using eM Client for the first time, you will be brought to this window automatically.
In the Account Wizard window, select Internet e-mail then click Next.
In the next screen enter your desired screen name and your Email address. Un-check the option “Automatically discover server settings” then click Next.
In the Incoming server configuration window:
select incoming server type: POP3
Incoming server: pop3.live.com
User name: Your Windows Live ID, for example [email protected]
Password: The password you usually use to sign in to Hotmail or Windows Live
Click Next
In the Outgoing server configuration window:
Enter Outgoing server: smtp.live.com
Click Next to finish the account setup.
After setting up your account in the Account Wizard window, in the Accounts window select the Live account you have just created, go to its POP3 configuration tab to the right of the accounts list.
In the Server panel, set Port to 995 for Security policy select Use SSL/TLS on special port
Click OK to exit the Accounts window, and now you are done!
My eM Client - 5.0.17263.0 version - has just the automatic option. It doesn’t let me set an account manually. Or does?
Of course it does. Open Tools - Accounts - New account - Mail - Other - Next.
