I often need searching by email address, and some of my queries don’t work, which is very frustrating. For example, if you need to find [email protected] you have to enter a search string “from:doe” or “from:john” but “from:greatcompany” or “from:great” does not work (unlike Outlook or Thunderbird with extension or Gmail web). Is there some lesser known search operator who does the trick?

please make sure that you have set the search for Subject. Then you can use Wildcards in the search engine so in your case it will look like this: *@greatcompany.com and you’ll get all emails sent to you from greatcompany.com domain.
