Gmail sending issues - stuck in outbox

For the last 4 weeks wer have been having issues with not being able to send emails from our Gmail account.  We can rcv them fine, but when sending they just sit in the outbox.

I have deleted the account and then re-added it several times which temp solves the issue but it always comes back.

Any ideas as it is rather frusting?

Two things to check:

  1. You have the correct SMTP settings. Go to Menu > Tools > Accounts and click on the SMTP tab. Set the port to 587 and the security policy to Force usage of SSL/TLS.

  2. If that does not help, temporarily disable your antivirus and firewall application, then try again. Sometimes these applications block the ports so you may have to reconfigure them.

If that still does not help, go to Menu > Tools > Operations , copy the error and post it here.

Hi,

many thanks for the reply.

I removed Avast which made no difference but upon turning off Windows Firewall the messages then sent.

I am just trying to work out how to add emclient to the safe list so it does not get blocked.

I think I have managed to add the port to windows firewall safe list thingy and messages seem to be sending fine.

Thanks again for your help.
