Failure to synchronize Gmail contacts

I recently reinstalled eM Client on a new computer, and ever since then, I have been receiving the error message

9:15:06 AM   MailClient.Storage.Application.OperationException: Synchronizing folder ‘v___@____/Directory/’ failed due to the following error: Execution of request failed: https://www.google.com/m8/feeds/gal/umd.edu/full?sync-token=0_1001_18054_AAN3FFNH5R4RZ4MBXEXHFADL2HV… (Temporary problem - please try again later.)

Well, I’ve been trying again later for three weeks, and no dice!

Any information on this issue? It seems related to https://forum.emclient.com/emclient/topics/google-contacts-sync-issue-5w7g337ynqy1d, except that my error is supposedly a “temporary problem,” whereas in that issue it was described as an “Internal error.”

Extra info:
I had a similar problem previously which I was able to solve by either deleting the “Directory” folder entirely, or by running the “Repair” function in the folder properties. Neither of these are working this time around.

If you still have eM Client on the old computer, are there any errors there?

The old computer is decommissioned, so no way to know now! But when I used it last, there was no problem.

One option is to remove that account from eM Client, then add it again. Maybe it will sync correctly.

I don’t think it is the cause, but maybe disable your anti-virus and try again.

Sadly, neither of those tricks worked.

Today’s error was different…

Valerie, is this with a regular Google Contacts account, or a G Suite account?

G suite

I think the best option, if you have a Pro License, is to open a support ticket directly with eM Client.

I don’t have a Pro License but might get one in the future, so we’ll see.

Thanks for your time!
