Entry Point Not Found

Since latest update, some (but not all) time when I run emClient I get a system dialog which says “em Client MailClient.exe - Entry Point Not Found” with the detail “The procedure entry point dbgcore.MiniDumpWriteDump could not be located in the dynamic link library dbghelp.dll”. This message appears 3 times on each occasion and needs to be Ok’d to clear it.
Any idea what to do to fix this please?

The quickest fix is to uninstall that service release and download and re-install the previous version of eM Client from the Release History. Will take about 5 minutes.

But according to eM Client Inc. if your OS is fully updated, there should not be an issue. See the developer’s comments at https://forum.emclient.com/emclient/topics/today-i-have-upgraded-em-client-it-gives-message-api-ms-win-crt-stringl1-1-0-dll-is-missing-how

How do you “uninstall that service release”? Do you mean uninstall the entire program and start from scratch with the new version, possibly losing settings etc, or is there a way to just uninstall the new bits?

And yes, my OS is fully updated (Win7 32bit) so while it “shouldn’t be an issue”, clearly it is :o)

Yes, uninstall the program. eM Client Inc. call it a service release.

No, you will not lose your settings etc. When uninstalling eM Client you will be asked if you want to delete the database folder. If you answer Yes , your settings will be deleted. If you answer No , your settings will not be deleted.

eM Client Inc. said that this service release was tested on a fully updated version of your OS: “We do test it on previous Windows versions but we use fully patched machines for these tests.”

Did I misread that?
