eMclient fails to launch on google chrome

Email and LinkedIn and Facebook and Mail Buttons on various web pages (for instance MSN news pages in Google Chrome) fail to launch in Google Chrome. I have disabled my firewall to test the buttons still fails to launch. HELP PLEASE!!

And what do links to Facebook and LinkedIn in web pages have to do with eM Client, Vincent?

To set eM Client as the default mail handler in Windows 10, open Windows settings and go to Apps > Default Apps. There you can select eM Client as the default for email. Also scroll to the bottom of that page and choose Set defaults by app. Then click on eM Client and choose Manage. Make sure all the options are set to eM Client.

You can send email with the buttons described with image attached.

Sorry, I really don’t understand Vincent. Are you saying you can send email when you click on the image?

Something like that, however, the buttons for FB and LinkedIn do not work either.

I think you’re taking the piss mate.

I asked if you can send email, and you say something like that, but then you say the other is not working either. So eM Client is not working?

after your instructions to set preferences for eMclient the email button works, if I’m not out of my tree the problem with FB and LinkedIn could be either/or Google Chrome or FB and LinkedIn. I guess I would have to contact both of the Social Networking sites and let them handle it.

Have followed all of the instructions above :
To set eM Client as the default mail handler in Windows 10, open Windows settings and go to Apps > Default Apps. There you can select eM Client as the default for email. Also scroll to the bottom of that page and choose Set defaults by app. Then click on eM Client and choose Manage. Make sure all the options are set to eM Client.

eMclient is not listed as an app in LibreOffice Manage,  therefore I cannot set eMclient as a default program for LibreOffice, please assist.

You need to do a bit of registry editing to fix this. Change the following two entries to eM Client:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Clients\Mail
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\Mail

Gary

Please see screen shot of what is available in the Registry, based on your screen shots I do not know that what I’ve done is correct and same error appears.

In the right hand window, double-click on the (Default) word. A popup to change the value will appear.

For the value data enter eM Client

The do the same for the other key as well.

That means first go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Clients\Mail, and set the value to eM Client , then go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\Mail and set the value to eM Client.

Is this correct?

No.

Send me an email and I will send you a registry patch file.

If anyone is interested, open your text editor and paste the following:

[HKEY\_CURRENT\_USER\Software\Clients\Mail]
@="eM Client"
[HKEY\_LOCAL\_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\Mail]
@="eM Client"

Then save the file as fix.reg

When you double-click on it, it will automatically change these two values in your Windows Registry.

thanks so much the fix worked, kudos.
