emails disappearing without any rules or auto archiving

I have 2 email accounts I use daily with eMclient, one with Yahoo and one with Gmail.  Both accounts have the same prefix, (example: [email protected] and [email protected]).

If I send an email from [email protected] to [email protected] it will briefly appear in my Inbox but then within 1-2 seconds it disappears and can only by found by looking at the All Mail folder in Gmail.  It is important to note that I do not have any rules setup to do this nor do I have auto archiving turned on.  This behavior does not occur when I send an email from [email protected] to [email protected].  In this case the email stays in my Inbox for me to process as I please.

I have confirmed that eMclient is causing this issue.  I did this by shutting down eMclient on my PC and ensuring no background processes were running.  I then went to my Yahoo mail page and sent several emails to my Gmail account.  I then went to my GMail page and confirmed the emails were there in my Inbox.  After several minutes the emails were still present in my Inbox.  Next I started up eMclient and right away those emails were removed from my Inbox and can only be seen in the All Mail folder in Gmail.

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

What happens if you remove the GMail account from eM Client, then add it again. Is the same behavior there?

First off sorry it took so long to get back to you.  Yes, this behavior still occurs after removing the gmail account and adding it back. I also removed emClient and installed a newer version.  However when doing this there must have been some residual files left over because I didn’t have to set anything up after the re-install.

I have been dealing with this issue for the past 2 months, albeit not happily, but now today I noticed another email from someone else (from a yahoo account) also wound up being removed from my Gmail inbox and only available in the All Mail folder.

GMail only has three folders (All Mail, Trash and Spam) and the folders you see (Inbox, Sent etc) are actually virtual folders or filters using a label that GMail has assigned to messages. Sometimes these labels are removed from the message and then they are only visible in the All Mail folder. I am not a GMail user, but you can view your messages using the web interface and see the labels on each message. If the messages are in the correct folders in the web interface,  then it must be some problem with eM Client.

Uninstalling eM Client will not remove the user database, which includes all your settings. If you want to do that and start fresh, close eM Client and rename or delete the  *C:\Users* _ username _ \AppData\Roaming\eM Client folder. You may have to show hidden items in Windows Explorer to do that. This will remove all eM Client data from your computer, so you might want to make a backup (Menu > File > Backup) before you do that.

I actually installed em Client on another PC to see if the problem persisted there and it did not.  The other PC left new messages alone and they remained in my Inbox.  So that told me the issue was with my original PC.  I’ll work on the full uninstall soon and see if I can get it working correctly on my main PC.  Thanks   for the help.

No need to uninstall. Just backup (Menu > File > Backup) on the PC where it works, and restore (Menu > File > Restore) on the one it doesn’t. The backup contains and will replace the complete database and all settings.
