eM Client updated itself today and in the release notes were some references to Exchange which led me to try once again to set it up to synchronise with my work Exchange server. This went well - nowadays it seems one CAN set up an account to connect to an Exchange server (see my previous support thread on this topic). However, once it started to synchronise, it crashed almost immediately. Now I’m in an endless loop where I get the crash on startup (as with others, I can continue using the client as long as the crash window stays open), but I can’t disable the Exchange account so as to return to my previous working state. If I highlight the Exchange account and untick “enable account”, I get a second crash and this time the error message box is modal, so I can’t click OK on that dialog. When eM Client starts again, the account is still enabled, and the crash recurs.
I need to know how to remove the Exchange account offline - is there a config file I can edit?

I found I could _delete_ the account, although I couldn’t disable it, so that’s what I’ve done for now. I’d love to get Exchange working though, so if there is a clue in the error descriptions above, I will be very happy to try any workarounds or suggestions offered, even if it means re-configuring the account (which after all doesn’t take very long).

I’m having substantially the same issue too, but only when trying to use eM Client on the exchange account’s network (at work) and only after the most recent eM Client update. When I try to access the account from another network (at home), exchange integration seems to work just fine.

I’m getting that one too (Stream does not support seek operations). They all seem to be to do with the offline address book, which might explain why yours behaves slightly differently depending on which network it’s on.
I had forgotten to mention that, but I did notice that yesterday. Is there a way to disable the offline address book for an Exchange account to see if that makes a difference on the work machine?
This version was installed by an eM Client representative on my machine yesterday. While initially the issue appeared to be resolved, within an hour the error had returned, and now occurs just as before - as soon as eM Client is started. I have provided details of the error, which appears exactly the same as before.
I’ve also tried installing the MSI file you mentioned. For me, eM Client still crashed immediately on startup. So, I tried uninstalling completely and even deleted the profile folder under C:\Users[username]\AppData\Roaming. I then reinstalled. I had previously saved a settings export that contained all the information about the Exchange account as it functions elsewhere. On importing this settings file, the Exchange account comes in as disabled. The box to enable it under Accounts is filled in solid and doesn’t change to a check or to empty when I click on it.

Can you try to create the exchange account again in the new installation?
There is no crash when (1) the Exchange account is disabled on the work network or (2) when the Exchange account is enabled in eM Client on a machine connected to a different network (e.g., home). When I recreate the Exchange account on the work machine, the crash starts happening all over again.

For the benefit of everybody on this thread, can you tell us if the whole text from the error box is required, or maybe just the first paragraph? The threads get very long with the whole error text in each post about a new crash. David this is not aimed at you or anyone else - in fact, I started it!
Hi Nick, usually first few lines stating what the error is (aprox. 10lines), are enough for the developers, but in some cases we really do need the whole error report.

They’ll be working on a fix for the issue, for a faster troubleshooting, do you think you should send me all the *.OAB files from your database folder to my email ([email protected]) with a reference link to this forum topic?
To get the .OAB files, please go to your local folder > App Data > Roaming > eM Client, and copy the .OAB files.
Hi, can you try to delete the .oab file from the eM Client folder and then try to run the application in it’s latest release (which you should already have installed http://www.emclient.com/dist/v6.0.20968/setup.msi).
After deleting that file, eM Client has run for about 4 hours or so without crashing. Still, though, I regularly get an error on the offline address book to the effect that “An attempt to connect to Exchange failed. This could be caused by temporary server unavailability or incorrect settings. Do you want to check the settings?”
I can send and receive mail on the work machine through the Exchange account just fine now, but (besides the address book issue) changes to the calendar in eM Client don’t seem to be syncing to the Exchange server. Because mail works I’m thinking the settings should all be correct, but I’d certainly welcome any further suggestions you might have for resolving these remaining issues.
