During windows update had to reinstall eM client have lost local folders containing emails . can you help hlp

Depending on what version of Windows you upgraded from, you might have a folder called C:\Windows.old.

Close eM Client and copy the C:\Windows.old\Users[username]\AppData\Roaming\eM Client\ folder to C:\Users[username]\AppData\Roaming\eM Client\ replacing the existing one. eM Client needs to be closed for you to do that, and you may have to show hidden items in Explorer.

Hi, I’ve had similar experience. Yes there is a folder Windows.old/…etc…  and there are files including a large dat file 1.4GB called mail_data along with several other DAT files. I have copied these to new location for eM Client as mentioned in reply above. However, when I restart eM Client the old folders are not displayed and neither are the e-mails. Is there something else I need to do? My Local folders contained Holiday info such as Flight detail etc… I can probably get them resent along with all the accomodation bookings. But, seeing that there is a 1.4GB File suggests that the messages are still available.

OH, and I’ve also lost all my Contacts as well :-(
