Display of e-mail body issue

Hi,

I’ve posted a message that was properly stored inside the Sent folder. The message contained nothing special and was sent from my Android device using Kaiten e-mail client. Please see below photo, taken from the web-client of my e-mail provider.

As you can see, the message body is properly shown. The web-client shows two question marks where I’ve originally inserted a smilie. The smilie does not show properly, obviously because a certain font, containing the appropriate simile, is missing. Maybe this is the cause of the issue in emClient, too:

Now, when looking at the same message inside emClient, I see a dfferent picture. The above red marked text is missing. It seems emClient is showing some HTML code?

I’ve uploaded the message causing this issue here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/11147714/Message%20body%20issue.txt

Can you please have a look?

Thanks,
Michael

Hi Michael, this is unfortunately caused by an incorrect formatting of the email message, the smileys you’ve inserted were inserted into the HTML as  and which are not valid UTF-8 signs, however the application should be able to display the message, I’ve reported the issue to the developers and we’ll be working on a workaround for this issue for future releases of eM Client.

Thank you,
Paul

Thanks Paul!
