crashing

Often, while I am typing an email, the program crashes. I think it may happen when my knuckles accidentally touch keys in the first row (hunt and peck, lol). Maybe its the alt key, or the windows key, IDK. Perhaps there is some vestigal function that is called by pressing this key combo? If anyone from EM Client reads this forum, maybe they have an idea?

What version of eM Client and Windows are you using?

EM version 7.1.31849.0

Windows 10 Pro Version 10.0.16299 Build 16299

Sorry Steve, don’t know what can be causing this. If you have a Pro License, you can open a support ticket, otherwise I suggest upgrading to the latest version at http://www.emclient.com/release-history

Me too, and I don’t blame my knuckles. It’s even caused Windows (10) to crash.
7.1.32088.0, no updates available.

Ron, there is a more recent version available to download. See if that makes any difference.

It’s crashing for me too. Version 7.1.33101.0, the latest. Any hints ?

You can try starting eM Client with a blank database, and see if that fixes anything. First make a backup using Menu > File > Backup if you can open the application. Then close eM Client and rename C:\Users_[username]_\AppData\Roaming\eM Client\ to something else. Do this anyway, even if you were not able to make a backup. You may have to show hidden items in Explorer to do that.

When you restart eM Client a new blank database will be created. You can then setup your account.

If you want to go back to your old database, use Menu > File > Restore. If you were not able to make a backup, you can close eM Client and then delete the newly created C:\Users_[username]_\AppData\Roaming\eM Client\ and rename the folder that you previously renamed back to \eM Client.
