Crashes with AC3Filter

Received this hard crash today when testing incoming mail behaviour. Seems to be related to AC3Filter, as it occurred right when the message came in (presumably, to play the notification .wav):

Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: MailClient.exe
Application Version: 5.0.17263.0
Application Timestamp: 50cb3ef1
Fault Module Name: ac3filter.ax_unloaded

Exception Offset: 2e470002
OS Version: 6.2.9200.2.0.0.256.48
Locale ID: 1033

Could be an AC3filter-issue only, so I apologize if that’s the case. Going to try and look into it more though. Windows 8 RTM per the OS Version above.

Thanks!

Actually, found that AC3Filter has a setting to exclude it from being used to play different audio formats. Tried disabling PCM + LPCM, which match my .wav notification sound formats. As the issue only happened randomly, I can’t confirm if it’s the fix, but hopefully this helps others.

Within AC3filter Config, go to the SYSTEM tab, and it’s the first box “Use AC3filter for:”.
