Command Line switches

Hi, is it possible to get an API documentation? Specifically we would like to know what command line switch options mailclient.exe supports?

Hello. At present, there are only few parameters (/newmail, /newcontact, /newevent, /newtask) to create a new item.
There is also an ‘/open’ parameter which, followed by the path to a file, either opens the file (if it is an .eml, .vcf or .ics file) or attaches the file to a new mail

marked as answered.

Is there a way to pass merge field values through as well?  We have an app that can pass values to Outlook as a merge field.  I would love to be able to do this in EM Client, but can’t find a way to do so.

Hi Dave, no this is unfortunately not possible in eM Client.

Thank you for understanding,
Paul.

Hi, I couldn’t find anywhere a description and example of how to use it, we use actually Thunderbird and none of it’s shell command works. Could you please also add “/help” or “/?”.
Would also nice to add this informations into the online tutorial/help with a few examples, had to loose a lot of time to fine this page. And if it’s really so time consuming to add this features, then please add this informations at least to the help pages. Thank you  BTW: could please add the examples to the reply? thank you again.

Hello Giulio, as one of our developers suggested it is only possible to use a couple of parameters at the moment.

At present, there are only few parameters (/newmail, /newcontact, /newevent, /newtask) to create a new item.
There is also an ‘/open’ parameter which, followed by the path to a file, either opens the file (if it is an .eml, .vcf or .ics file) or attaches the file to a new mail

Hope this helps.

Thank you, I read that already in the first posts.
Could you ask the developer to write some examples here hot to use the commands so that I can know how to specify the parameters ?

Not completely sure what you have in mind by specifying the parameters, you can use the parameters by initializing the “MailClient.exe” application from the shell and adding the suggested parameters to the path of the MailClient.exe file, which will initiate an action based on what my colleague has suggested.

There are unfortunately no advanced options that would allow you to compose and send the message straight from the command line.

Hope this helps.
