Auto- Syncronization will not turn off

I have turned off auto-syncronization but EM still keeps syncronizing when I do not want it to. How can I stop it from doing this? Thanks.

Hello Brian,
manual synchronization is possible only for POP accounts, because that is how the POP protocol is designed to work. It only sends/receives messages when prompted.
If you have IMAP and Exchange accounts they are synchronized automatically with each change on the server/in the client.

A possible work around if you wish to disconnect eM Client from synchronizing any account is to use Offline mode (Menu>File>Work Offline). All data will be synchronized only when you turn to online mode again. All messages sent while offline will be saved in Outbox and sent when online again.

Thanks Olivia. I can set up my gmail account to POP but it seems that I cannot set EM to be POP instead of IMAP. Is there a way to do this?

Hello Brian,
you cannot change an existing setup, you will need to create a new one. If you want to still sync your Calendar and Contacts I suggest keeping the original setup as well - just disable the IMAP and SMTP services.
So, disable services in the general tab of the Menu>Tools>Accounts window (disable IMAP and SMTP, the screenshot is just to show you the location of this section).

To set up your mail account as POP click ‘+’ to setup New account.
Instead of Automatic setup choose Mail>Other.
