/Inbox". (NO Server Unavailable. 15)

I am continually receiving this message: [IMAP] Cannot open folder “/Inbox”. (NO Server Unavailable. 15) on a Microsoft live.co.uk email account. Occasionally, an email comes in so it does work intermittently. I have google searched but nothing listed.

Try “closing eM Client” and going to your Microsoft account online and remove / revoke the eM Client OAuth token and then “reopen eM Client” and you should then get a prompt to re-allow eM access to your Microsoft account, as that might possibly be a corrupted OAuth token.

If that still does the same thing if it’s a IMAP or Exchange account, go to “Menu / Accounts” and try removing and readding the account and see if that fixes it. Might possibly be a corrupted account.

Apart from that if you are running any eg: optionally installed firewall / security programs or optionally installed antivirus programs or vpns “other than what comes default with your OS, then try completely disabling those to test incase of any interference connecting to the ms server.

Lastly if none of that makes any difference update what version of eM Client you are using and if you have Windows Mac & what OS version.

Other users are also seeing these errors as seen in recent posts

My email backup program, Mailstore Home is also having the same ‘No Server Unavailable. 15’ errors. So it probably is a Microsoft problem. Having said that Outlook in windows 11 is working fine.

Sorry but this forum seems totally locked down by eM as they dont seem to allow free discussion and have to approve every post unlike most sites community forums. I dont know if they will ever show the answers so good luck.

The forum is not on lockdown and we absolutely allow free discussion. What we monitor for is spam and bot activity.
While we are sorry for the inconvenience of having your first post approved, we had to put this in place to avoid large amount of spam post that we experienced here in the past.

I am getting that error now all of a sudden. It is not effecting my usage and nothing seems broken. You can turn off the Operations Window in Settings/General/Operations Window. That worked for me but doesn’t answer why it is now happening when before it was fine and only effecting Microsoft email accounts.

I am also getting this message throughout the day on both computers in my house running the latest Win 11 updated with eM Client ver 10.4.4867 (a1d5549). This started a week ago roughly and it isnt always /Inbox. I will get this eM message now pop up on my screen with 1 to 3 random folders from my Microsoft Email account. Sometimes Inbox or sometimes Send, Archive, etc or a combination of 2 or even 3 folders. It now is getting annoying and I came here to see if this was a documented problem or how to turn off the error log window as it makes you have to close the error log window every time an error is generated. The other 2 Email accounts I have running along with my Microsoft account are working fine in eM, its just the Microsoft account that is at issue. I have logged into my Microsoft account and removed eM from my authorization list and then restarted and reauthorized but it still gives this error with random folders of the Microsoft account effected. I have removed the Microsoft account and readded it in eM with the same issue reoccurring on both PCs. It doesnt seem to effect anything as I can send test messages to and from the effected account from my other two accounts fine with no errors. It is purely just a real annoyance at this point and doesnt seem to effect the actual operation, that I can tell anyway. A solution would be greatly welcomed. Cheers.

Where can I find the eM Client OAuth token ?

@Brian_Fisher

Where can I find the eM Client OAuth token ?

For a Microsoft outlook.com, live.com or Hotmail.com account, go Microsoft Account Privacy / App-Access https://account.microsoft.com/privacy/app-access and you can remove / revoke eM Client OAuth token as per the second screenshot below.

I get the following message frequently on hotmail.au accounts - it also appeared a few weeks ago but disappeared for a while, definitely a Microsoft issue.
[IMAP] Cannot open folder “/Archive”. (BAD Command Error. 12)

I have now clicked Don’t Allow against eMClient. But now I have to sign in to Microsoft twice before I can get my emails.

Once you remove the OAuth token “then close and reopen eM Client” where you should get a prompt to re-allow eM Client access to your account which will create a new OAuth token. You shouldn’t then have to login twice.

If you have already done that and you still have to login twice, “then go to “Menu / Accounts” and remove and readd your Microsoft account” via the add account automatic account wizard.
