Why can't I download attachments??

The attachment download failed because of an error that offline mode is active.

To add to the above description, here's what i see at my station:

1. try to download message's attachment:

2. but...unsuccesfull: (note that it states i am on Offline mode which is NOT correct (Offline mode is unchecked)

3. i have the final "can't read" message:
