Cannot Move My Database - Help!
I changed the location of my storage database, and now the program won't load. I have the program loaded on one drive, but my database was located in my C: drive, under App Data. I created a new folder on the drive that houses the program, copied all the filed from the C: drive App Data folder, left the "settings.xml" file in that C: drive folder, changed my database location inside of eMClient (under Tools-->Settings-->Storage), and restarted the program. It told me that the database had an error, something about the path cannot be empty or full of while space. Why is this? I need to relocate this database off my C: drive to gain some space. What to do?

Hi,
one reason why this error happens may be the error in original version of Microsoft .NET 2.0 . Therefor please try to install .NET 2.0 SP2 from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/cs... and we will see if it was this problem. -

Hi again-
Well, I wasn't able to install the .NET 2.0 SP2, I guess because I have SP3...it told me it was "incompatible"...still looking for an answer to this...it seems that if the programs gives me the option of relocating my database, as ling as I leave the "settings.xml" file on my C: drive, I don't understand why it's not working...I have an absolutely huge eMClient database, like close to 3 gigs, so I really need to move it...any other ideas?

download and try to see if will fix the .net2 uninstall issue. Unfortunately MS has officially stopped this tool and no long downloadable from them.
Alternatively try http://support.microsoft.com/kb/908077
And let hope you can get rid of the .NET and .NET2 is the source of your problem. -

an't offer advice, but as a very recent user of eM I just moved my database to another partition an it worked like a dream.
Win 7 HP 64bit.
