A toggle button to mark e-mails as read/unread

It would be nice to have a toggle button to mark e-mails as read/unread.
It could be placed between the span and delete-button.

    sad I’m sad
My mail server uses sieve to sort my mail via my rules. Thus, I have all sorts of folders w/new mail in it. The "unread" global folder is fantastic for me. I typically use it for handling new mail. I view the message and typically do one of the following:

    1. Mark it spam (Move to Junk)
    2. Reply
    3. Delete it
    4. Mark it Read (nothing for me to do, but keep it for archive)

I can do 1, 2 and 3 via buttons very easily. Number 4 I have to right click, the click Mark as Read. Sure, this works but my mouse is always at the top toolbar. I have not got use to the keyboard shortcuts for doing this yet as they are cumbersome. Ctrl+Q to mark as read, Ctrl+Shift+, (which is Ctrl+<) to move next, etc...
